A Little bit of Mexico in Barcelona.. gourmet one though!

41. This wonderful brand new restaurant is the tapas version of a fine cuisine version: Hoja Santa. Niño Viejo is a Mexican style cantine with a small and a cozy dinning area, great to spend a friendly time with close people. The Restaurants´s chef is one of the famous Adria´s brothers (Albert).

The restaurant is a little noisy and not a lot of space to eat. The guacamole is to die for! Portions and small but tasty. The best part is the desert where they serve colorful tequila macarons. They were delicious, certainly the best macarons we´ve tasted! Interesting experience as a tapas - light meal.

38. The Palau Reial de Pedralbes: "Pedralbes Royal Palace") is a building placed in the middle of an ample garden in the district of Les Corts, in Barcelona. From 1919 until 1931 it was the residence for the Spanish Royal Family when they visited the city. Currently it includes the Ceramic museum and the Textile Museum and Museum of Decorative Arts (interior design museum).

The palace has its origins in the old Masia de Can Feliu, from the 17th century. The corresponding land was acquired by the count Eusebi Güell, along with the neighbouring Can Cuiàs de la Riera. Together they formed the Finca Güell, an extensive parcel of land (30,000 m2). The Can Feliu building was remodeled by the architect Joan Martorell i Montells, who built a Caribbean-style small palace, together with a Gothic-style chapel and surrounded by magnificent gardens. Later the building remodeling was given to Antonio Gaudí, together with the construction of a surrounding perimeter wall and the side entry pavilions. Gaudí also partially designed the gardens surrounding the palace, placing two fountains and a pergola and planted many Mediterranean plants like palm trees, cypress trees, magnolias, pine trees and eucalyptus. The Hercules fountain still exists today on site, restored in 1983. It has a bust of Hercules on top of a pillar with Catalonia's shield and a spout in the shape of a Chinese dragon.

A must visit landmark, and a wonderful romantic landscape. The gardens are just superb!

37. This amazing landmark in Barcelona is one of the most special sacred buildings in our city. Built between 1329 and 138. It is an outstanding example of Catalan Gothic architecture, with a purity and unity of style that is very unusual in large medieval buildings.

Every time I walk pass by it I stare at it for  good-solid ten minutes, remembering my dear friend´s wedding Tanit and Patricio.

The first mention of a church of Santa Maria by the sea dates from 998. The architects in charge were Berenguer de Montagut (designer of the building) and Ramon Despuig, and during the construction all the guilds of the Ribera quarter were involved. In 1379 there was a fire that damaged important parts of the works. Finally, on 3 November 1383 the last stone was laid and on 15 August 1384 the church was consecrated. In 1428 an earthquake caused several casualties and destroyed the rose window in the west end. The images and the Baroque altar were destroyed in a fire in 1936.
