Local Artists & Local Goodies

 331. If you walk around the Borne you will find new and cute sops arising by the day. I had the chance of walking around with the pre-Christmas feeling and i bumped into the cutest shop: La nostra Ciutat Barcelona. the shop itself is terribly interesting and chic. It almost feels like an art gallery. The space is like an old industrial factory turned into an open and airy space with plenty of goodies, local art by local artists, people from Barcelona. From Framed works, to decorative cacti. Very interesting to check out!  info below!

Best Mexican Tacos in Barcelona....so far!

28/11/2016

329. When you are recommended to check out an international restaurant with local people from its own country that is a good sing! That is what happened to me this weekend! My good friends Maru and Emiliano took me to this amazing Mexican taqueria with real tacos made like back at home.
Located right next to the Sagrada Familia, I had the chance to try nopales (real cactus), sugar candy ice cram, intense flavor cheese nachos and delicious Jamaican drink (remind me of Egyptian carcader).
Super cool place, with real Mexicans, really clean, quick service, excellent flavor and super cheap! The best part its that is has a Mexican restaurant right across from the taqueria where you can buy all the ingredients to make it back at home! Lovely!

335. This is one of the coolest most trendy places to go in Barcelona right now! guess what? It´s Messi´s restaurant!! That´s right the barça football player!  The restaurant´s name is Bellavista del Jardín del Norte and it pretends to look like a little village. With various areas to dine. The food is absolutely delicious and the presentation is indeed very sleek!
The desserts bar is to die for with an infinite selection of cakes and petit fours. The entrées with friend fish like calamari and shrimps are delicious and the fresh salads are wonderful. A great place to enjoy with family or a friend reunion!

The Beauty of a Dream Home in a Dream Place!

328. This past weekend we had the pleasure of enjoying the scenary of Comarruga in el Vendrell (Tarragona). This is a lovely residential area, right next to the beach and just 25 minutes drive to Barcelona. This property was old and had some caracter but it could ebarely be appreciated.
We decided to keep its caracter (like stair tiles) but giving it fresh air, making it modern and chic for a contemporary family. This was the result. You can see the property info on this link.

Angle Restaurant en Hotel CRAM - 1 Michelin *

21/11/2016

391.  This is by far, I think, my favourite Barcelona restaurant. Led by Michelin Star Chef #Jordi Cruz, this one Michelin Star heaven is just that heaven: #ANGLE! not very well know, as its landmark restaurant is the #ABBAC, however this one is even more authentic, top service, and the menu is simply out of this world. It changes according to the season we are in. in our case we went in the middle of autumn and the dishes were inspired in chestnuts, calçots, parmesan and boletus. The desserts were something i have never tried before; just the right taste combined with the right elements, for me pure PERFECTION! A funny thing about this restaurant, is the carton board Chef #Jordi Cruz character that greets you to the restaurants. See picture below.  5*****

What area would you recommend living in Barcelona?

17/11/2016

324. Did you know that Eixample is by far the most popular area in Barcelona to live in? Do you agree? Or do you prefer Sants? Perhaps Sant Martí? Horta-Guinardó? There is quite a difference between where us foreigners like to live in and where locals who have been here for generations prefer to settle. Eixample is by far the district which offers more households following Sant Martí.
It also depends if you are coming by yourself or if you are planning on sharing with a large group. If you are family of 4-5 members who need a two to three bedroom perhaps Sarria will offer you more choice. However the more people you are looking at areas like Ciutat Vella or Bou Barris will probably give you more choice. What is your opinion? Please share your comments either here or on our Facebook Page. Have a lovely day everyone!

321. It is my pleasure to present to you our latest property development project in Barcelona. This flat belonged to two brothers who were not speaking to one another. I it was their childhood home which they had not inhabited for more than 20 years. You can imagine the state of the property!! Dark, smelly... scary to walk into.
It is a two bedroom property, dining room, closed kitchen, bathrooms and a storage room.
We have now transformed it into a two bedroom - two bathroom modern property. We started the works 3 weeks ago and we still need 2-3 weeks for the works to be completed.
I will include for you some original pictures of how the property looked initially and in the video you can see me welcoming you to the middle process development, Enjoy and welcome!   Please share the story!

Have a Merry Romantic Dinner

11/11/2016

320. After having checked out various restaurants in Barcelona during the past couple of months, this is I think my favorite this season so far. A Contra Luz is the name of this amazing place! So cute, so sweet, so chic, so perfectly and warmly decorated. This dual type property: sweet garden area and cozy and warm inside it is just the perfect atmosphere. I love the chairs; they are my favorite ones like the ones I talked about in this article.
The attention to detail to make the guest have a lovely evening is just perfect. Romantic and slow music, low music, incense and the staff are amazing.
The food is to die for, amazing croquets, fresh fish and the bread.... OH MY GOD! Onion, olives, cereals, all amazing!
· Price: 30€ per person aprox
· Would I recommend going? Definitely!
· Will I go back! 100% for sure!

2017 looks like an excellent year to buy a property in Barcelona!!

10/11/2016

319. In this article, I’ll tell you why 2017 looks like an excellent year to buy a property in Barcelona, as the pound could strengthen versus the euro, cutting your costs.

Are you thinking of buying a property in Barcelona? In that case, whether you’d like to buy a €240,000 flat in Vilanova i la Geltrú next to the beach, or a €265,000 duplex in Barcelona near to the shops, you’ll want the best exchange rate. After all, if sterling is flying high versus the common currency, you’ll need to transfer fewer pounds to buy your ideal property in Barcelona!

With this in mind, what’s set to happen to the pound to euro exchange rate in 2017, especially in light of the UK’s vote for Brexit? Well, let’s take a look, and how this could benefit you when you buy your Barcelona property.

The good news is that sterling could well strengthen versus the Eurozone’s common currency next year, above its current 1.1367. This is because, just last week, the UK’s High Court ruled that only Parliament has the authority to trigger Article 50, for the UK exit the EU.

This could lift the pound, and so make it cheaper for you to buy a Barcelona property, because this significantly lifts the odds of the UK pursuing a “soft” Brexit. After all, the UK’s MPs are likely to want the UK to stay in the Single Market, lifting the UK’s economic outlook for the coming years, and so sending the pound higher!

What’s more, the cost of buying a property in Barcelona could also fall next year, because the European Central Bank looks set to expand its extraordinary monetary stimulus, devaluing the euro.

Picture
To be specific, the Eurozone’s central bank currently prints billions of euros every month, to spur inflation in the common bloc. Next month, the ECB could well extend this scheme to 2017, to lift inflation to its +2.0% target. Given that this involves printing such vast sums, this could drag down the value of the euro, thereby making property in Barcelona considerably less expensive for you to buy!

Lastly, the pound to euro exchange rate may also strengthen next year, cutting the cost of buying Barcelona property for you, if Marine Le Pen wins France’s 2017 Presidential election. Ms. Le Pen leads the National Front party, France’s equivalent to UKIP. Following Donald Trump’s recent win in the USA, it’s thought that support for populist politicians like Ms. Le Pen has risen worldwide.

With this in mind, were Le Pen to win France’s Presidential election, the euro would weaken substantially, thus making Barcelona property more affordable for you, whatever the property you have in mind!

Given all this, 2017 looks set to be an excellent time to buy Barcelona property. Be sure to make the most of it!

What Quarters are More Popular in Barcelona?

7/11/2016

316. According to the Economist Gonzalo Bernardos, the economy and particularly Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia are booming.
The political uncertainty of the Brexit, the Refugee crisis and the American Elections are all creating a world and particularly European turmoil. These factors contribute in the decision of the European Central Bank to keep the interest rates in an unprecedented low rate.
This catalysis the market for the potential buyers to actually make the decision of buying, as acquitting a property is cheaper than renting it.
Barcelona is one of three cities in Spain which has more property demand. In fact by 2026 the population in Barcelona will rise substantially.
In the following graph we can see the population raises in the different districts in Barcelona, Eixample being the most popular and Ciutat Vella the least.
                                                                                                                                                                                               [Source: http://www.bcn.cat]
